Bio

I was born and raised in Fort Collins, Colorado. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University, and went on to complete my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Northern Colorado. I have also enjoyed studying the Spanish language, and hold an endorsement in Linguistically Diverse Education.
I started my career in Poudre School District in 2001, where I taught fourth grade for 5 years. When my husband began his graduate work at CU, we moved to Longmont, and I accepted a position here in Saint Vrain Valley School District where I have been teaching first grade ever since!
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, including traveling, hiking, biking, camping, and just adventuring together. Our two boys keep us busy with their varied interests and funny antics.
I am proud to be a part of the amazing school community here at Niwot Elementary! We have a talented and dedicated staff, inspiring and hard-working students, and enthusiastic and supportive parents. I love stepping into my classroom every day and doing work that I believe in so deeply.
