- Community Schools
The continued safety, well-being, and success of our students, teachers, staff, and community has always been our top priority as we navigate the complex and evolving coronavirus crisis. To that end, our comprehensive task force has outlined a school reopening plan that includes a return to full-time in-person instruction for students in grades PK-5, 6, and 9, and an alternating schedule with a combination of in-person and synchronous real-time online learning for students in grades 7-8 and 10-12.

I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Fort Collins. I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University, and immediately went on to complete my Master's Degree in Elementary Education at the University of Northern Colorado. I have also enjoyed studying the Spanish language, and have an endorsement in Linguistically Diverse Education.
I started my career in Poudre School District in 1999, where I taught fourth grade for 5 years. When my husband began his graduate work at CU, we moved to Longmont, and I accepted a position here in Saint Vrain Valley School District where I have been teaching first grade ever since.
I enjoy running, playing soccer, hiking, biking, camping, reading books, and of course, spending time with my family. I met my husband, Mike, as a freshman in high school and we have been inseparable since! We have two beautiful boys who bring us immeasurable amounts of joy each day, and are most definitely the lights of our lives!
I am thrilled to be a part of the amazing school community here at Niwot Elementary! We have a talented staff, inspiring students, and committed parents. I love stepping into my classroom every day and doing work that I believe in so deeply.
