Differentiated Instruction

Our school focus is Differentiated Instruction, which means we work to create multiple pathways so that students of different abilities, interests, or learning needs experience equally appropriate ways to absorb, use, develop and present concepts as part of the daily learning process. This approach allows students to take greater responsibility and ownership for their own learning, and provides opportunities for peer teaching and cooperative learning.

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)

Niwot Elementary utilizes the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS), which is defined as a whole-school, data-driven, prevention-based framework for improving learning outcomes for EVERY student through a layered continuum of evidence-based practices and systems.

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day.
