This is my 8th year working at Niwot Elementary as a school counselor and I continue to be grateful for the opportunity to work with the staff, students, and families in this community. I love being a part of your student's academic journey.
Prior to working in the school system, I was a counselor/teacher and group treatment coordinator for an outdoor residential therapeutic program for teenagers, a teller and trainer for Elevations Credit Union, and a case manager for people experiencing homelessness after being released from Boulder County Jail.
As a school counselor I provide support in 3 domains: academic, social/emotional, and college/career. I love my job because I have such a mix of responsibilities throughout the day including whole class counseling lessons, individual check-ins, small groups, parent and teacher consultations, and this year I monitor second grade lunch and recess. I also support students and families as the school’s 504 Coordinator and serve on the MTSS team.
In my free time, I love hanging out with my husband and (almost) 3 year old son. We enjoy getting outside in nature and staying active. I'm always reading at least a couple books (mostly Audible these days) and trying to find just a little bit of time for self-care.
Please reach out if you are needing support for your student or family and if I can’t help, I will point you in the right direction. I work now available Monday through Friday.
