Niwot Elementary offers opportunities to engage students beyond the school day.
100 Mile Club
The 100 Mile Club is a well-established national program where students run 3-5 days a week for 30 minutes or more. The 100 Mile Club was designed to take place in the morning before school in order to have the greatest impact on academic achievement and behavior.
Schedule:
Monday, Thursday, and Friday mornings before school from 8:20 a.m. – 8:50 a.m.

Student Council
Student Council is made up of 4th and 5th graders, elected by their peers, to:
- Plan special student events
- Conduct activities to generate school spirit
- Assist with community outreach and school philanthropic endeavors
- Manage Longmont Dairy’s “Milk Caps for Moola” school fundraising program at the school
- Suggest ways that teachers and administration can improve the school environment

Cougar Choir
The Niwot Elementary Cougar Choir is for students in 3rd-5th grades. Students in Cougar Choir meet weekly and learn the fundamentals of vocal technique, music reading, and performance. They sing a wide variety of songs from different genres, including classical, pop, jazz, Broadway musicals, and world music. Cougar Choir students perform several times throughout the year, and perform for community events such as the Niwot Halloween parade, holiday parade, or local sporting events.
